Port District FY 2026-27 budget
The port is having a banner year — over $4 million in gross revenue, the most since 2009-10, and nearly $2 million in net operating revenue. Next year's budget projects $3.4 million in revenue with modest expense growth, mostly from personnel benefit costs.
Assessment district renewals (LLD-1 and Storm Drain District 1)
Two annual assessment districts were renewed with no rate increases — street lighting/landscaping citywide and storm drain maintenance in Rayleigh's Landing — so property owners pay the same as last year.
Clean 2024-25 audit and agency finances
Auditors found no problems in the agency's 2024-25 books — no findings, no recommendations. Cash on hand stood around $58.7 million in early April across the agency's funds.
Federal Funding Transition Planning
With Congresswoman Doris Matsui departing, the district wants a transition packet ready to brief her successor on flood-protection funding needs — including expensive pump maintenance (bills of $20,000/month) and the state's FMAP program being defunded.
Expanded low-income utility assistance
The water/sewer credit jumps from $3 to $18 a month, with a new $15 tier for seniors 62+ on fixed incomes — but only 192 households currently use it, so outreach is key.
